Apple Removes Binance, Kucoin, and OKX from App Store in India Amidst Money Laundering Law Non-Compliance

Following a show-cause notice from the finance ministry to nine virtual digital asset (VDA) service providers, including Binance, Kucoin, and OKX, Apple has taken action by removing offshore crypto exchanges from its App Store. The notice, issued on December 28, accused these platforms, along with Houbi, Kraken, Gate.io, Bittrex, Bitstamp, MEXC Global, and Bitfinex, of operating illegally in India by failing to register and adhere to local tax regulations. The finance ministry had instructed the information technology ministry to block their URLs.

As of now, Apple has not provided a comment on the situation. While these apps still appear on Google’s Play Store, it remains uncertain whether Google will follow suit in removing them.
