India went top of Pool B to jump over Netherlands in a win that would be remembered for a long time. India thrashed Pakistan 7-1 with three goals in the first half and four in the second to hand the perennial rivals a miserable outing.
India and Pakistan have enjoyed contrast results and performances so far in the Hockey World League 2017 in England. On one hand India have won two in their two matches – beating Scotland 4-1 and Canada 3-0. Pakistan have had opposite results with two straight defeats. That trend continued on Sunday as India thrashed Pakistan 7-1 in an all round show. Harmanpreet, Akashdeep and Talwinder scored two goals each while Pardeep Mor chipped in with one.

1945 hrs IST: Pakistan switching keepers now. Amjad Ali goes out and Hazar Abbas comes in. Amjad hasn’t had a bad game but let down by the defence
1941 hrs IST: GOAL!! India are humiliating Pakistan here. 6-0! Pakistan lost 0-6 to Canada and have now let go six to India. This would hurt more for sure. Pardeep Mor finds the tiniest of angle to beat the Pakistan keeper

1938 hrs IST: GOAL!! Akashdeep Singh once again scores. Neat first touch to create little space and angle for himself and gets the shot on. Nothing that Amjad Ali could do to stop that

1934 hrs IST: Plenty of chances for both teams in the third quarter but India have added one and it could very well have been more. Pakistan, too, could have been on the scoresheet but for some big saves by Dahiya and Chikte
1931 hrs IST: SHOT! Chenglansana with the shot from inside the area but Amjad Ali gets down quickly low to push the ball away. Had it not been for Amjad, Pakistan would have been in far bigger trouble
1924 hrs IST: Pakistan go for a reverse hit shot but it gets an Indian foot it seems. Third penalty corner for Pakistan. Mahmood gets the shot on this time and Dahiya gets the stick on it to push it over. He has been spectacular today. Immediately Pakistan win a fourth PC and this time too Mahmood gets the shot on target and this time it is down and low to the keeper’s right and it is saved!
1919 hrs IST: India get a fourth penalty corner. They’re 1/3 today. GOAL!! Harmanpreet Singh scores! Bang to the left of the keeper. Not kept low or high but comfortable height but hit fiercely and India lead 4-0!
1918 hrs IST: Pakistan, like first half, with good start. Shot on target and it is saved by Vikas Dahiya. Over on the other hand, India have a shot attempted but it is narrowly wide
1918 hrs IST: Second half underway. India get the ball rolling and they lead 3-0 comfortably
1907 hrs IST: The hooter goes and India deservedly lead Pakistan 3-0 at half time. Two goals from Talwinder and one from Harmanpreet Singh
1906 hrs IST: After some terrible play from Pakistan in the middle of the pitch, Ramandeep Singh has a chance at the goal. Defended first, then gets a shot which is saved by the keeper. In the end it is cleared away to safety

1901 hrs IST: Vikas Dahiya coming into action once and twice in the past few minutes but not enough to create much trouble or concern for the Indian defence. India led 3-0 against Canada in the first half and let the momentum drop. Unlikely they’d do the same today

1854 hrs IST: GOAL!! SV Sunil deflects the ball in the Pakistan goalmouth but it is Talwinder who gets the final touch. Lovely play down the left from Sardar Singh to open up that much space and then double the lead. India are now 2-0 up!
1852 hrs IST: India have a chance to double their lead as they win their third PC of the match. Harmanpreet gets good contact on this one. It is destined for the top of the goal but Pakistan keeper Amjad Ali remains agile to push the ball away. Good save that
1848 hrs IST: Second quarter gets underway with Pakistan’s second penalty corner of the match. Good grab and collect but the effort from Bilal is easily wide of the mark
1846 hrs IST: At the end of the first quarter, India lead Pakistan 1-0 thanks to Harmanpreet Singh.
1842 hrs IST: Pardeep Mor moves down the right and tries to wiggle his way through into goal and it hits a Pakistan foot. Second PC of the match for India. GOAL!! Not the best connection with the ball and that looks to have deceived the Pakistan keeper Amjad. Harmanpreet Singh has India in the lead after 13 minutes – his second in the tournament
1837 hrs IST: Very cagey so far in the first quarter from both sides. First PC of the match for Men in Green. Bilal gets the shot on but the effort is over the goal. On further look, it clipped the top of the goal and went over
