An innocuous link on Facebook led to the discovery of videos purportedly showing a group of singers in Balochistan singing ‘Chittiyaan Kalaiyaan’ from Roy. The description on the link says that the song has been copied from these singers. The credits in ‘Roy’ have been given to Meet Bros Anjjan and Kanika Kapoor for singing, Meet Bros Anjjan for music and Kumaar for lyrics. Interestingly, the same credits are also given to last year’s superhit song ‘Baby Doll’ from ‘Ragini MMS 2’, another song whose video has also been recorded with Baloch singers. MensXP could not independently verify whether the popular songs have, in fact, been copied.
The original songs are worth listening in any case for their soulful singing. We have put together the Baloch and Bollywood versions of both songs for you to listen to and judge.
